If you want to success, you will need all three things: talent, opportunity and preparation. You can not be success, if you miss any of the condition. Talent is the thing you born with. For example in chapter 1, it talks about Canada Hockey. Most of the great members are born in January, February and March. This is the thing you can not change it. If you just have talent and missing the opportunity, you won’t be success. Achievement is talent plus preparation, so preparation is another important part to be success. In the example of violinist, they were divided into three different groups according to the time they spend on practicing. The result of this experiment shows practice will make perfect.
I will show one example about the relationship. It’s about Mozart. The first thing he has great talent. He started writing music at six. Then is opportunity, his father is a musician that let Mozart be interesting about music. He owned a piano so that he can have the opportunity to practice the piano. For him the last one is preparation. As one of the greatest musician, he couldn’t hit his stride until he had his ten thousand hours in.
