What are reasons school might have for banning/censoring a book?
Excess vulgar language, sexual scenes, concerning moral issues, excessive violence, anti-white and obscene.
Is it ever appropriate for a school to remove a book?
Sometimes it is appropriate but sometimes it's not. I think reading different book should in different ages. Just like the catcher in the rye if you let the primary school student to read this they of course will follow some bad habits and will make negative influence because they don't know many things or understand many things. But if you let high school student to read this they already know what things they should learn from this book what they shouldn't. So I think it should depends on different situation.
when should students/teachers be allowed to read what they want?
When teachers think their students have the ability to learn this book distinguish good part and bad part then students should be allowed to read what they want.
